Biography

     Hannah Mortimer spent her early childhood in Lethbridge, Alberta, with her parents and younger sister, where at a young age Mortimer endured the sudden passing of bother her parents, her Mom in 2011 at the age of 8 and her Dad in 2013 at the age of 11. Mortimer spent the rest of her childhood growing up on an acreage in Millerville, Alberta with her Aunt, Uncle, sister, and two cousins. Mortimer’s work explores the traumatic passing of her parents and the effect that on her developmentally, and emotionally. Mortimer is currently in her fourth year of her BFA at Alberta University of the Arts majoring in painting. After Mortimer finishes her BFA, she is planning on completing an education degree and becoming an art teacher in middle and high schools, to share her passion for art and creativity with students.
